Greetings to PN – February 2013

-

Most recent greeting posted at top. Many Greetings to PN also are linked to online stories.

The flock of birds on the front at sunset is really nice. (February 2013 cover) I love how it bleeds behind the PN banner logo. Really nice design element.—Tom Tortorich

We routinely pick up the latest copy of “Positively Naperville” at the supermarket, and thoroughly enjoy the content you offer. Well done! —Brian & Patricia O’Mara-Croft, Oswego, Illinois

I’m wearing my One in a million t-shirt in Dallas, Texas. I recently learned that I am a distant cousin of Walter Fredenhagen, so Cock Robin is even more special to me now. I would love to have another butterscotch One in a million malt. The best were the malts that weren’t quite mixed enough and a coating of butterscotch was left along the bottom of the cup. After slurping down the One in a million, there was still the extra topping to be scraped up with the straw and enjoyed. … My favorite ice cream flavor was the Concord Grape. —Nancy Grove Mollenkamp

OH MY GOODNESS!! How “Positively” can somebody feel when they open their mailbox and discover a wonderful gift certificate to one of their favorite restaurants in all of?! Participating in your latest Naperville Trivia contest was not only fun, but rewarding. As one of the many finalist in the contest, we are thrilled with our prize and look forward to a night on the town! Thank you Positively Naperville for being such a wonderful contribution, it is folks like you that not only make Naperville so great, but also a place to be proud to call home. —Gary and Pam Leavenworth

Thanks so much! I saw the article—it was actually pretty exciting! I’m presenting my project for the regionals competition tomorrow. … I actually really enjoyed writing the article.  … Thanks so much! —Chelsea Wang

Editor’s Note: One thing that has created much joy for PN is the opportunity to provide space for budding writers to share their passions. Currently, PN features two regular young columnists. Emily Riederer, an advocate of opera; and Jack Morressey, a food critic, write monthly. Since PN’s founding in 2001, more than a dozen teens from School Districts 203 and 204 have contributed to the publication. Thanks to all. —PN

My wife Megan and I spoke about our Young Life Access program for teens with special needs at Rotary a few times over the past few years. Last year, you ran a wonderful article about our race on Positively Naperville. We just opened registration for this year’s race on May 4th. Would it be possible to put our event up on Positively Naperville again? It was great publicity for the race and we’d love to continue to let people in Naperville know about our organization. Thanks so much! —Justin Elder

Editor’s Note: The 5th annual Access 10k/5k presented by Young Life is scheduled to begin at 9:30AM May 4, 2013. This event will be held at the Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton. To register and help send teens with special needs to Young Life camp and support the bi-weekly meetings and activities of Young Life Access in Naperville, visit accessrace.org/—PN
