No matter what the season or the weather, the view of the Riverwalk Quarry from the Farmers Plaza with the Farmers Monument at Eagle Street is a big reflection of community spirit that includes names of farm families, the Gregory Gazebo, Jaycees Marina and Moser Tower with the 72-bell carillon. Enjoy the changing colors along the winding brick path of the city’s natural treasure from Jefferson Ave. to Hillside Rd. in the heart of downtown, just steps from all that shopping, dining, entertainment and football over at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at North Central College on Friday and during 2019 Homecoming on Saturday.

The annual rivalry between Naperville Central and North returns to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on the Campus of North Central College. (Due to thunderstorms, game moved to Saturday afternoon at NCHS.)

North Central College presents the “Homecoming Kick-Off” concert at 8PM in the Wentz Concert Hall & Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Join us for this Homecoming tradition as the Cardinal Chorus, Chamber Singers, Jazz Combo I, Concert Choir, Concert Winds, Symphony Band and Women’s Chorale perform in the glorious Wentz Concert Hall. Casey’s Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Add a dollar and get chips and a drink. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.

Harvest House Walk 2019 – 10AM | $35

Open to the public! The Harvest House Walk is a chance to tour the beautiful homes in the Historic District of Downtown Naperville. All proceeds benefit Ellsworth Elementary School. Tickets are $35 when purchased in advance using the link below. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the door for $40.  Walk 4 Life 2019 – 1PM | FREE

Walk 4 Life is a suicide prevention and mental health awareness event in at the Alive Center set from 1 to 6PM, Sun., Sept. 29, 2019.  The goal is to provide local teens with mental health resources they may not know about while having fun. Educate. Walk. Celebrate. Music performance by Tres Mustache will conclude the event.

Meson Sabika will host a fundraiser in support of the Red Cross to fund needs of devastation created by Hurricane Dorian. 100 percent of sales will benefit the cause from 11:30AM to 10PM on Tues., Oct. 1.

As the sign indicated during the Jaycees Last Fling, Naperville’s Field of Honor returns to Rotary Hill along the Riverwalk from Nov. 1 through Nov. 11 for Veterans Day 2019, marking the 100th year since World War I ended and when the American Legion began, and remembering a century of heroes and heritage.
