Public Naperville Trolley Tours

One-Hour Historic Trolley Tour of Naperville! Every Friday at 11AM during June, July, and August. $18 per person. Children’s 30 minute Trolley ride! Every Friday at 10:15AM during June, July, and August (not available on 8/16). $8 per person. Trolley Tours meet at the “Trolley Stop” on Jackson Avenue at Eagle Street (Kiddie corner from address of 305 Jackson Ave., Naperville). Online tickets at napervilletrolley.com.

YMCA presents its outdoor family summer movie series in Central Park on a big screen set up in front of the Century Walk mural titled “Great Concerto.” Admission is free of charge. Enjoy “Aquaman” on Fri., Aug. 23.

Families are invited to experience the Traveling World of Reptiles Show, a Brookfield Zoo Show-and-Tell, a Touch a Truck exhibit, interactive safety presentations and more at Representative Grant Wehrli’s free Children’s Safety Expo, featuring more than 40 booths staffed by a variety of groups and organizations that assist children and families. In addition to the booths, other special activities include: Face Painting: 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM; Brookfield Zoo Show-And-Tell: 10AM; LIFESTAR Medical Helicopter: 10AM until Noon; Traveling World of Reptiles Show: 11AM. Scott S’cool Scoot 2019 – 10AM | $25-40

The 13th Annual Scott S’cool Scoot is a 5K Fun Run or 3K Walk through the streets of Naper Carriage Hill neighborhood in the Southeast portion of Naperville. The annual run/walk kicks off the school year to encourage students and families, teachers and staff, and neighbors to stay active, healthy and fit – by keeping active, healthy and fit – we are ready to learn. K.I.S.S. Kids Identification and Safety Seats – 10AM | FREE

The Illinois Tollway and Illinois State Police District 15 host this free Kids Identification and Safety Seat (K.I.S.S.) event on Saturday, August 24, from 10AM to 2PM at 302 N. Washington St., Naperville. Kids ID cards will be processed and safety seat inspections will take place. Attendees receive; free identification cards for children ages 3 and older; child safety seat inspections and installations; Touch-a-Truck display featuring hands-on exploration of a Tollway H.E.L.P. truck and snowplow.

Casey’s Foods fires up the grill on Saturdays and Sundays – 11AM–2PM | Cost varies with purchase

Casey’s Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Add a dollar and get chips and a drink. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.

Early Friday, street artist Cera said his mural might be finished this weekend, weather permitting.

Internationally-recognized muralist Cera will be putting finishing touches on his 50′ mural that tells the story of Greg Gordon’s mission to rescue and adopt cats and dogs that’s promoted by Dog Patch Pet & Feed, Naperville’s original pet store. When completed, the mural with a message will be visible around the clock.

DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) will host its second Annual Teacher Expo from 3 to 7PM on Wed., Aug. 28, at the Museum. With over 40 exhibitors, this free adults-only event connects educators, all kinds, to professional resources that will support and enhance their work with children.
