Above / Update! During the West Suburban Irish Emerald Dinner held at Elements on Water Street Saturday evening, a proclamation from Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico recognized February 24, 2018, as “Chuck Corrigan Day.”

Corrigan, current president of the West Suburban Irish, is also the St. Patrick’s Parade master organizer. For this 25th year of Irish heritage celebrations via WSI, Corrigan also was named the Grand Marshall of the parade that will kick off on the right foot for fun and frolic at 10AM Sat., March 10, in downtown Naperville. Sláinte!

This week’s Saturday specials include Casey’s Center Cut or Thick Cut Pork Chops Saturday Only $3.98 per pound and Garlic Potato Salad Only $3.49 per pound. The Naperville VFW “All You Can Eat” Fish Fry is open to the public every Friday from 4:30 to 7:30PM now through March 30 at the Judd Kendall VFW, 908 W. Jackson St., Naperville. The buffet menu varies, but attendees can expect eight hot items, including two kinds of fish, chicken, salad and vegetables, plus rolls, desert and coffee, all of which are included in the dinner price. The buffet is provided by Belgio’s Catering. A full menu is available at www.napervfw3873.org. A full bar is also available. This French farce takes us to 1708 Paris where Eraste, a worthy though penniless young man, is waiting for his wealthy old miserly uncle to die so he can inherit his fortune and marry his beloved Isabelle. But his uncle, Geronte, has other plans for Isabelle and his money. With the help of two wily servants, Eraste attempts to disinherit newly found relatives and forge a new will to their benefit. The multiple plot lines unravel to great comedic effect all while being performed in rhyming couplets. Showtimes are at 7PM February 22, 23 and 24. The community is invited when the Naperville Art League hosts an Open House from 1 to 3PM at the newly-renovated Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, home to the Naperville Art League, an organization of approximately 200 members and growing. Monthly exhibits by talented local artists, a gift shop, and classes for all ages and skill levels, and the award-winning Riverwalk Fine Art Fair are among the League’s activities. The free event will include refreshments, artist demos, door prizes, art and gift items for sale and more. The annual WSI Emerald Dinner is a time to put on the green for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, while combining good food, good friends and good music prior to the annual WSI St. Patrick’s Parade that steps off at 10AM on March 10, 2018, in downtown Naperville. On March 10, 2018, Rotary Sunrise will lead the way for its annual St. Paddys Day 5K. Registration is now in progress.

Keep Moving to help keep local charities running! Register now for the first running event of the season at PN’s Runs, Walks and Bike Rides that will keep you outdoors for more than a good cause beginning on March 10, 2018, when the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise presents its annual St. Paddy’s 5K just before the WSI St. Patrick’s Parade in downtown Naperville. Registration to participate in both events is now in progress.

For all the special events at Quigley’s Irish Pub timed for St. Patrick’s Day including the kid-friendly Photos with the Leprechaun from 12:30-3:30PM on Sun., March 11, visit www.quigleysirishpub.com. Note also that St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at Quigley’s on March 10 and March 17 are for ages 21 and older on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations are unavailable on those two Saturdays when everybody can be Irish. Festivities at Quigley’s include live music on March 10 and March 17 with a cover charge of $5 per person.

Weekends, Music & More!

Start with breakfast from 10AM to Noon at Quigley’s Irish Pub on Saturdays and Sundays.  And stay for the live band beginning at 8:30PM. Brunch is served throughout downtown Naperville, too.

Celebrate with the West Suburban Irish and friends with Quiz NIghts on the first Tuesday of most months and during a “session” of traditional Irish tunes on the third Wednesday of the month at Quigley’s.

And on that note, thanks for supporting live music such as the sounds of sessions (the third Wednesday of the month) and bands at Quigley’s Irish Pub (Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays) or local bands at Club Mamalu’s on the first Friday of the month with OMT lite and friends. No cover.
