Do you realize that your expertise, talent or passion can be very useful for a charitable cause?
I have had the pleasure of sharing my decorating and marketing knowledge with many charities throughout the years. Last year I teamed up with another designer and we did a home make-over for a deserving family in need through “Bridges Communities.”
My most recent cause has been serving on the decorating committee for the upcoming “Masquerade Party” benefiting Hesed House from 5 to 8PM, Sunday, October 6, at Meson Sabika.
If you have a passion for decorating, but are not really looking for a full time job, this sort of thing could be just your creative outlet.
Most charity events require decorating and they look for creative people to help out with everything from center pieces to special lighting. For me it’s always fun to come up with the theme of the event, build on that and then just watch it snowball into a beautiful occasion.
Setting up and getting a charity event off the ground successfully works much like a business. People are needed to help with specialties in almost everything like finance, marketing, sales, and logistics. So, whatever your talent may be, please consider sharing it with a cause. I promise you will meet great people and it will be very rewarding.
