DuPage County COVID-19 Media Staff Notes…

Glad to see soooo many of you heeding the directions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and all of us here at DuPage County. According to the numbers and some projections, we are starting to see the benefits of frequent washing of hands, wearing a facemask in public, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, and of course the staying at home directives from the Governor’s office.

We ask all of you to continue your diligence in hygiene as we head into the next two weeks. It is imperative that you stick with us as we navigate through our joint Coronavirus response as you are big trusted part of our public safety partners throughout communities.

Add cloth-covering facemasks to practice of social distancing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made the recommendation to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus when in public, the use of clothcovering facemasks by the general public while maintaining 6 feet of social distancing. The recommended cloth facemasks are NOT the N95 masks which should still be reserved for first responders and medical workers who have direct contact with coronavirus patients.
