Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walk to End Alzheimer’s – 8AM | No registration fee for Walk, but we ask to make a donation in the fight against Alzheimers.

Join the Walk. Come out and have fun, while raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimers awareness in your community. The Alzheimers Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal.  Time: Registration at 8AM, Ceremony at 9:30AM, Walk at 10AM. NCHS Bands and Band Boosters Association will hold a car wash fundraiser on Sept. 18 (9AM to 2PM) at Naperville Central High School. Students will be in the NCHS parking lot off of West St and Aurora Avenue. Donations and tips are graciously accepted. These students are working very hard preparing for an awesome marching band competition season. The donations and tips will go to the NCHS Band Boosters to support the current renovations to the band trailer that will be on display.

The Riverwalk Fine Art Fair is held downtown at Main and Jackson and along Naperville’s Riverwalk in the center of a sophisticated, art-conscious community, attracting artists and craftsman from all over the nation as as far away as Israel. The public is invited to experience an explosion of artwork and musical works from fine artists. www.napervilleartleague.com. It’s also Kiwanis Peanut Day! Volunteers from the Evening Kiwanis also are handing out info with maps of the art show.

Caseys Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Its great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.  Plus, it’s just around the bend from Oswald’s where kids will find school supplies and spirit wear.

The folks at Meson Sabika have noted, “Olympics are in the past, and politics are in the future – so let’s focus on the present and come together to help the victims of  Louisiana and Italy.” 100 percent of sales from lunch and dinner, inside the historic mansion or on the patio, will benefit American Red Cross for relief efforts. Last Monday donations benefited flood victims in Baton Rouge. This Mon., Sept. 19, donations will benefit earthquake victims in central Italy.
