New Mental Health and Opioid Remediation Grant Opportunities Available from City of Naperville

-

Above / Recognizing that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, the City of Naperville is funding additional Mental Health and Opioid Remediation Grant Opportunities. Applications are due by May 31, 2024.

In recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, the City of Naperville announces two new grant funding opportunities for organizations providing mental health and substance use programs and services in Naperville. While the City annually awards Social Service Grant (SSG) funding to enhance social service activities for community benefit, this additional funding is specifically targeted for mental health and opioid remediation programs and services.

Mental Health Programs & Services – $250,000

To further support the SSG program’s mission, the City Council approved an additional $250,000 in grant funding specifically for mental health programs and services. Projects must impact mental health and Naperville residents.

Opioid Remediation Programs & Services – $100,000

The City received National Multistate Opioid Settlement funds from the State of Illinois. The City Council has approved $100,000 of these funds to be awarded in grants for opioid remediation programs and services. Projects must qualify as an approved abatement program under settlement restrictions and must impact Naperville residents.

To maximize the impact on Naperville’s mental health and substance use needs, some restrictions on the SSG program have been removed. Organizations applying are not required to be a non-profit 501(c)(3). School districts, medical providers, coalitions and faith communities are welcome to apply, as are non-profit organizations and providers. Entities that already received 2024 SSG funding may apply for additional funding.
