Greetings to PN / November 2013 / Volume 13 #3

-

Most recent greeting is posted at top. Occasionally, Greetings to PN also are linked to online stories. Many of these greetings, edited for space, will appear in the next issue of PN. Thank you for keeping greetings brief.  And thanks for sending your thoughts with your signature. We welcome them!

To PN Editor: Volunteers are one of our nation’s most valuable resources! Every day millions of caring people enrich their communities by helping to educate our children and prepare them for the future.

DuPage Children’s Museum is all about nurturing a new generation of creative problem solvers. Our volunteers are helping to build critical thinking skills in young children to better prepare them for the future. It’s hard to imagine where DuPage Children’s Museum would be without the aid and dedication of these volunteers.

During this thanksgiving season, we would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the over 800 volunteers who make a difference every day in our organization and community! As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on our volunteers to help us achieve our ambitious goals. Without volunteer support, it would be impossible for the Museum to accomplish our mission of stimulating curiosity, creativity, and problem solving in young children. We extend our sincere appreciation to our volunteers for the time, energy, and passion they share with the Museum.

This past year has been an exceptional time for the Museum – thanks in great part to the involvement of our volunteers! They have helped the Museum meet the many challenges of operating on a day-to-day basis. Volunteers have performed numerous jobs including administrative tasks, interacting with children, staffing events, exhibit repair and maintenance, and much more! Over 300,000 children and their caregivers benefit each year from their help and services.

Through their service and commitment to the DuPage Children’s Museum, our volunteers are helping us make a difference in the lives of thousands of children!

—Sue Broad, President & CEO, DuPage Children’s Museum

To Web & Design Editor:  I just picked up a copy of this month’s PN at Casey’s a few days ago and I cannot thank you enough. The center spread? A teaser with my logo on the cover?! Really?!!!!!  From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. It just looks so amazing! … I attended the show last night and had a great time. I thought you might like to see the pictures. Hope you like them.  … Again, thank you so much for featuring the interview and working so hard to make it look stunning. It is so appreciated. —Scott Itter, a.k.a. Dr. Music

To PN Editor: That is a fantastic montage for veterans and I especially appreciate the PR for the Blue Star Reception. —Jim Vahle, American Legion Post 43

To PN Editor:  By the way, among the things I am thankful for, one is definitely Positively Naperville. —Bob Fischer, President – Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation

To PN Editor:  FYI. I have had 3 calls this week from veterans who read my column in PN. They want to get signed up for VA Healthcare. —Mike Barbour, Veterans and Seniors Advocate, Naperville Township, “Never shall I fail my comrades.”

To PN Editor:  I just wanted to say thank you so much for adding that fascinating 60 Minutes segment to my article. I hadn’t seen it before myself and really enjoyed it, and it was the perfect addition! Hope you are enjoying your fall! —Emily Riederer, Columnist, Teen’s View of Opera

Regarding Jack Morrissey’s Kids Corner Column:  I just had to say what a nice surprise to see and read Jack’s review of Fiamme in Positively Naperville. I may have heard he writes/publishes, but have not had a chance to read his stuff. He did a great job and I’ve been wanting to try that restaurant and will for sure now!  —Delores Madden 🙂
