Thank you, friends, in Naperville and beyond!
Thanks for reading the April issue of Positively Naperville and for much appreciated emails and phone calls during this Stay-at-Home time, many noting you’ve been ordering take-out from Meson Sabika, Quigley’s Irish Pub, Shakou, Belgio’s, Olive Garden, Hugo’s, Everdine’s Grilled Cheese, Buffalo Wild Wings, Lou Malnati’s and other participating restaurants listed at www.dinenaperville.com, representing N.E.W.S. locations throughout the city.
At the end of March, Wayne Fischer, a member of the DuPage Veterans Foundation, informed us that the Honor Flight Fundraiser held annually in May at the Calamos Investments Hangar at DuPage County Airport would be rescheduled. The lunchtime event from 11AM to 3PM featuring vintage aircraft, historic military displays and more would be moved to September 12, 2020.
Known for his community service, contributions to the American Legion Post 43 and many veterans’ affairs, as well as friendship to many, Fischer, a veteran Marine who served in Vietnam, is now serving as Sr. Vice Commander, American Legion Department of Illinois for 2020.
Today we received a request from Fischer for PN’s Daily Square Scoop.
“In light of what is going on with the COVID-19 virus, it might be good if folks could see this again. Can this be put on your PN Blast? Just a thought from an old Marine. Thanks. —Wayne”
