Special reminder regarding upcoming 2020 Census… All Naperville, Illinois, residents are encouraged to help “shape your future” by participating in the 2020 Census Count beginning in mid-March.  No matter how individuals take it, the 2020 Census is less than 10 questions, will take less than 10 minutes, and will shape every individual’s future for 10 years when the next census will be taken.

America’s founders designed the ambitious plan to empower the people over their new government back in 1790. By counting every individual living in the United States of America in 2020 (All 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories), the count determines representation in the Congress. Be counted! April 1 is 2020 Census Day!

Safe DuPage will host a community discussion on crime and public safety within the Village of Lisle at Benedictine University. Topics will include discussion on crime trends and causes, preventative measures for the public, current crime rates, and pending legislation that pertains to crime and drug abuse. Time will be allotted for Q&A. Public is welcome and encouraged. Moderated by Safe DuPage Founder and Naperville City Councilman Kevin Coyne, the panel discussion will include DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin, DuPage County Judge Jim McCluskey, Lisle Mayor Chris Pecak and State Representative Grant Wehrli as well as members of the Village of Lisle Board of Trustees. The annual Emerald Dinner is a fundraiser for the West Suburban Irish and local charities, combining good food, good friends, and good music. The 2020 St. Patrick’s Day WSI Service Award will honor the McNulty Irish Dancers. The Emerald Dinner kicks off the season of WSI Irish celebrations in collaboration with the Rotary Sunrise St. Paddy’s Day 5K at 8AM followed by the St. Patrick’s Parade at 10AM Sat., March 14.

Church services in the German language will be held at St. John United Church of Christ at 11:30AM on Sunday, March 1 and all are welcome to attend. St. John UCC is located at 1190 Olesen Drive. Naperville Municipal Band Winter Concert – 3PM FREE

The Naperville Municipal Band is set to perform its 2020 Winter Concert on stage at Wentz Concert Hall beginning at 3PM Sun., March 1. Under the leadership of Conductor and Music Director Ron Keller, the 90-minute concert titled “Band Classics” will feature Chelsea French performing a trombone solo, accompanied by the band. Public is welcome. Admission is free of charge. The NMB will spotlight Little Friends, Inc., and its mission since founded in 1965. Donations of personal care items are welcome for Little Friends.
