Naperville Garden Clubs Cup of Cheer House Walk, Holiday Market & Tea – 9AM-4PM | $40-$55

The Naperville Garden Club will host its 58th Annual Cup of Cheer House Walk, Holiday Market & Tea on December 5th ($55) and December 6th ($40) from 9AM to 4PM. Tour four beautiful Naperville homes decorated for the holidays. Enjoy the Tea with homemade cookies and receive a commemorative teacup and saucer. The Holiday Market, at the Judd Kendal VFW Post, is filled with many artisan items to help with your own holiday decorating. The market is open to the public without an event ticket on Friday, December 6 from noon to 4PM. Jump start your holidays with this Naperville tradition. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – 7PM | $5-$10
Naperville North High School, Auditorium – 899 North Mill Street Naperville, IL 60563
Who wouldn’t want to join Charlie Bucket in his adventurous tour of Willy Wonka’s world-famous Chocolate Factory? This production is completely student directed, technically directed, produced, & costumed! The children’s show at NNHS is a yearly show that takes place toward the end of first semester with a production directed solely for children. Performances continue this weekend: 11AM and 4PM Saturday and 4PM Sunday. Tickets and info at www.nnhsarts.com.

Chicago a cappella’s “Holidays a cappella” – 8PM | $20-$43

This beautiful musical tradition continues with a new collection of familiar and unusual songs for the holiday season. Revel in Christmas spirituals, contemporary classics, and tradition carols in new arrangements, with a special focus on music for Chanukah. Hill Middle School PTSA will hold it’s annual Gingerbread Junction with over 50 artisans displaying vintage designs, doll clothes, headbands & bows, hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, art, knits, fabric & quilts, holiday decor, candles, handmade soaps, and more! $3 admission, kids free.

Tuba Christmas – 11:15AM | Free
U.S. Bank Parking Lot – 136 S. Washington St, Naperville, IL 60540
Tuba Christmas returns at 11:15AM Sat., Dec. 7, to the front yard of US Bank, Jefferson Ave., at Washington St. in downtown Naperville. Hosted by the Naperville Municipal Band, the holiday song fest with the big brass sound welcomes euphonium/baritone players, Sousaphone players and tuba players. Musicians from 6th grade to adult are invited to participate in the popular tradition that attracts players from Naperville and many neighboring communities. Musicians register from 9-10AM at the Community Concert Center in Central Park, practice from 10-11AM, then perform at 11:15AM. Naperville Chorus and Pete Ellman Big Band Concert – 7:30PM | $20-$25

The Naperville Chorus will present “Another Swingin’ Christmas with the Pete Ellman Big Band” at 7:30PM on Saturday, Dec. 7, and 2PM on Sunday, Dec. 8, in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The Naperville Chorus is pleased to partner with Toys for Tots for this event, and they invite patrons to please help make this a very special holiday for someone in need by bringing an unwrapped gift to the concert. A receptacle for gifts will be in the lobby as patrons enter the venue. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors and students. Tickets and info at finearts.northcentralcollege.edu.

Santa & the Leprechaun at Quigley’s – 10AM | No charge for poses with Santa

Visit Quigley’s when breakfast is served beginning at 10AM. As a special treat, Santa and the Leprechaun will be available for photos with families from 10AM to 1PM. Photos with pets will be from 9AM to 10AM. Bring your camera!  Sláinte!

Naperville Municipal Band Holiday Concert – 3PM | Free

The Naperville Municipal Band will wrap up a year of celebrating the city band’s 160th anniversary when they take the stage for their annual Holiday Concert. This year’s performance will begin at 3PM Sun., Dec. 8, in the Auditorium at Neuqua Valley High School, 2360 95th Street. The concert is free and open to the public. The Holiday Show will feature Christmas favorites of all styles and moods from ‘Sleigh Ride’ to ‘Greensleeves,’ to ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ to ‘Country Cookin’ Christmas’ and to sing-a-longs with the audience. Note also that the featured Naperville nonprofit is Loaves & Fishes, celebrating their 35th year this year. Volunteers will be available in the lobby before and after the concert to accept monetary donations, or non-perishables. The items they are most in need of right now are tomato products (such as chopped, stewed, and whole tomatoes), regular and instant oatmeal, Progresso soup and paper products. Patrons also can donate directly to via interland3.donorperfect.net.

History Speaks Lecture Series, The Hidden History of Dickens A Christmas Carol – 4PM | $7-$10
