Above / Decked out for the holidays, the 7th Annual Jazz Faculty Christmas Concert is set for Dec. 6, in the Madden Theatre, located at the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.
Members of North Central College’s internationally-acclaimed jazz faculty will present their 7th Annual Christmas Concert beginning at 8PM Fri., Dec. 6, in the Madden Theatre, located at the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center.
The seasonal concert will feature a collection of well-known holiday favorites with a jazz twist. The faculty artists include vocalist Janice Borla, saxophonist Mitch Paliga, trumpeter Art Davis, trombonist Tim Coffman, vibraphonist Brad Stirtz, pianist Chris White, bassist Kelly Sill and drummer Jack Mouse.
At the top of their game, each faculty artist is a talented musician-educator in the College’s Jazz Studies program. They’re all successful as independent jazz artists, performing in public venues and releasing new recordings.
The series is co-presented by Flashpoint Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization promoting improvisation as an invaluable life skill, drawing people into the improvisatory process with innovative artistic and educational experiences.
Admission to the concert is $25 for adults and $20 for students and senior citizens.
