Jazz Faculty Concert Series celebrates its 11th season

North Central College’s Jazz Faculty Concert Series returns this fall for its 11th season. The nine-concert series features various members of the internationally known faculty of the College’s esteemed Jazz Studies program. The season will kick off Fri., Sept. 20, with pianist Chris White, who will be joined by saxophonist Mitch Paliga, vibraphonist Brad Stirtz, bassist Kelly Sill and drummer Jack Mouse.

The series is co-presented by Flashpoint Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization promoting improvisation as an invaluable life skill, drawing people into the improvisatory process with innovative artistic and educational experiences.

All concerts are presented on Friday evenings at 8PM in the Madden Theatre, North Central College Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

The season lineup also features evenings with jazz vibraphonist Brad Stirtz (Nov. 1), jazz saxophonist Mitch Paliga (Nov. 15), Jazz Faculty Christmas Concert (Dec. 6), jazz trumpeter Art Davis (Jan. 10), bassist Kelly Sill & drummer Jack Mouse (Jan. 31), jazz vocalist Janice Borla (Feb. 14), North Central College Big Band, with guest artists (TBA) (Feb. 28) and jazz trombonist Tim Coffman (April 17).
