The Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation will host its next monthly meeting at 8AM Sat., Jan. 21, in meeting room B of the Naperville Municipal Center featuring its annual panel discussion among area legislators.

State Senators Mike Connelly, Linda Holmes and Christine Radogno and Representatives Jeanne Ives, Grant Wehrli, Stephanie Kifowit and Davis Olsen have confirmed their intention to participate, according to NAHC President Bob Fischer.

The meeting begins with coffee and networking at 8AM, while the meeting proper will begin at 8:30AM, ending promptly at 10AM.

“The Confederation has prepared two (sets of) questions which have been provided to the legislators in advance of the meeting,” noted Fischer in his news release. “We also expect there will be time for audience questions as well as interaction with the legislators prior to and after the meeting.”

Two areas of interest prepared for legislators to address

1. Given the past gridlock in Springfield, how do you see the Legislature moving forward practically and constructively, to solve Illinois’ financial crises? What specific legislative acts might accomplish this goal, or is the situation déjà vu of last year with little getting done? Please mention any measure you plan to introduce personally to by way of remedial and/or corrective measures.

2.  What do you see as a viable solution to resolve the current inequality of funding among the state’s school districts, keeping in mind that the vast majority of the property tax levy goes to the school district? By viable solution, one that will actually pass the Legislature.

The Naperville Municipal Center is located at 400 S. Eagle Street, just north of Aurora Avenue.
