At approximately 3:12PM on Sept. 14, 2016, members of the Naperville Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the area of 1600 Westminster Drive for the report of a bleeding subject.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim, and it was discovered he was stabbed during a dispute with the suspect, who was known to him and had left the scene prior to police arrival.
The suspect was located in the area shortly thereafter and was placed into custody.
Pictured here, he is identified as: Brandon J. Hall, m/b, 12/10/1996 of the 300 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard in Oswego.
The victim was transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 felony.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
News submitted by Commander Jason Arres, Office of Professional Standards, Public Information Officer, for the Naperville Police Department.
Editor’s Note / After a recent incident was posted, we received inquiries regarding the vague reference to location. Commander Arres replied to reader inquiries regarding why specific locations are not listed in news releases.
“In reference to residential areas, we are not going to disclose a personal residence where an incident has occurred, unless there is some type of threat/issue where we need to warn our residents and the public to avoid that specific location,” Arres said.
“It is a similar issue in relation to businesses. Again, we are trying to strike that balance between keeping everyone informed but also protecting the business. We have heard from businesses in the past who are concerned with their name being associated with a crime happening at their location, out of fear of that affecting their business. Obviously, if we feel the public is at risk or needs critical information relating to an incident at a location, we will absolutely put that information out.”
