Offense
QB: Naperville Central senior Conor Joyce (62 percent completions for 2,135 passing yards and 14 TDs; 129 carries for 391 yards and nine TDs)
Named 2015 Offensive Team Captain in the DuPage Valley Conference, Joyce earned IHSFCA Class 8A all-state first team honors for a 10-win team. Leaves Naperville Central with 19-5 career record while helping program to first outright DVC title since 2001.
RB: Waubonsie Valley senior Max Ihry (244 carries for 1,493 yards and 14 TDs)
Ihry, a unanimous selection on the All-DVC team, earned IHSFCA Class 8A first-team all-state honors for a Warriors’ team that reached the state semifinals for the first time since 1992. A middle linebacker by trade, Ihry – who will wrestle at Northern Illinois – led an aggressive, opportunistic unit with 135 tackles.
RB: Metea Valley senior Maurice Burkley (135 carries for 771 yards and four TDs)
Burkley admirably filled Bryson Oliver’s shoes as the lead running back for Metea Valley in being selected to the All-DVC team. He had back-to-back 100-yard games against Lake Park and Wheaton Warrenville South.
WR: Naperville Central senior Emmanuel Rugamba (62 receptions for 930 yards and six TDs)
The Iowa-bound Rugamba, an unanimous All-DVC pick, led Naperville Central offense in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns while proving to be the main weapon for Joyce while being honored as part of the IHSFCA’s Class 8A all-state first team. Defensively, he made his presence known with 26 tackles and a team-high four interceptions.
WR: Neuqua Valley junior Isaiah Robertson (50 receptions for 803 yards and nine TDs)
Robertson, the Co-Defensive Team Captain in the DVC thanks to 81 tackles and four interceptions as a safety, did quite a bit on offense, as well. He led the Wildcats in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns on his way to being selected as part of the IHSFCA’s Class 8A all-state first team.
WR: Naperville Central senior Matt Lehmann (35 receptions for 730 yards and four TDs; 21 rushes for 210 yards and two TDs)
One of 10 Redhawks placed on the All-DVC team, Lehmann played off the attention Rugamba received quite well as he proved to be very dynamic in both the pass and the run game.
OL: Naperville North senior Tom Rizzi
An All-DVC selection, Rizzi helped the Huskies’ transition back to double wing all year as the team averaged 161.2 yards per game on the ground. Six Huskies ran for at least one touchdown while five ran for at least 118 yards on the year.
OL: Benet senior Frank Scheck
Scheck, a pick to the East Suburban Catholic Conference team, was one of the guys who helped pave the way for Marty Dosen, Alec McEachern and Charlie Weidenbach on the ground as the team averaged 146.3 yards per game.
OL: Naperville Central senior Ryan Culhane
One of two Redhawk offensive linemen selected to All-DVC team, along with junior Trevor Campbell, Culhane and his line-mates helped the team average 140.9 yards a game running the ball.
OL: Waubonsie Valley senior Tyler Caldwell
Caldwell, the only Warrior on the offensive line tabbed to the All-DVC team, helped pave the way for Ihry’s nine 100-yard rushing games.
OL: Neuqua Valley senior Tommy Cwiok
Cwiok, a unanimous All-DVC pick, was a stalwart on the offensive line for the Wildcats. Cwiok helped the Wildcats average 147 rushing yards per game as six different players recorded touchdowns – led by Nick Osikowicz’s 11.
Defense
DL: Neuqua Valley junior Tommy Ciesla (42 tackles, eight TFLs, five sacks)
Along the defensive line, Ciesla – an All-DVC pick – helped guide the Wildcats’ defense by finishing seventh in tackles, tied for second in TFLs and pacing Rodney Jones’ unit with five sacks.
DL: Metea Valley junior Michael Robinson (50 tackles, eight TFLs and seven sacks)
Robinson, selected to All-DVC team, led Mustangs’ defense in TFLs and sacks and will be key cog for defensive coordinator Matt Fehrmann to build around in 2016.
DL: Benet senior Trent Kramer (66 tackles, 11 TFLs and 2 ½ sacks)
Kramer was tabbed to All-East Suburban Catholic Conference team after finishing fourth on team in tackles, tying for second on team in TFLs and finishing third in sacks.
LB: Naperville North senior Jack Hamman (65 tackles, six TFLs and one sack)
One of three Huskies selected to All-DVC team, Hamman was a unanimous pick as he led Anthony Silvestri’s defense with his 65 tackles out of the ever-important middle linebacker spot.
LB: Benet senior Charlie Weidenbach (113 tackles, 11 TFLs, one sack and one interception)
The ESCC’s Defensive Player of the Year, Weidenbach paced Tim Cederblad’s defensive unit with his team-high 113 tackles while being placed on the IHSFCA’s Class 7A all-state first team.
LB: Neuqua Valley senior Nick Osikowicz (109 tackles, nine TFLs and one sack)
Selected to All-DVC team, Osikowicz was one of six Wildcats to earn all-conference recognition after leading the Wildcats’ defense in tackles and TFLs. A two-way player, he added 11 rushing touchdowns for the Neuqua Valley offense.
LB: Waubonsie Valley sophomore Josh Dominiak (127 tackles, eight TFLs, four PBUs and five sacks)
Playing alongside Ihry, Dominiak piled up the tackles as he finished second on the Warriors’ defense in tackles while finishing in a tie for second on the team in sacks.
CB: Naperville Central senior Jon Barker (82 tackles, two TFLs, eight PBUs, 1 ½ sacks and two interceptions)
Selected to All-DVC team, Barker was fourth on Redhawks’ defense in tackles while he was one of three Redhawk defenders with two interceptions.
CB: Waubonsie Valley senior Trevon Moore (38 tackles, eight PBUs and five interceptions)
Trusted with playing one-on-one defense on the opponent’s best receiver, Moore tied for the team lead in interceptions with five while leading the team with his eight PBUs.
S: Waubonsie Valley junior Connor Yukna (102 tackles, two TFLs, five PBUs and five interceptions)
Selected to All-DVC team, Yukna led back end of Warriors’ defense with his 102 tackles and tied for Moore for the team-high with his five interceptions.
S: Benet junior Alec McEachern (81 tackles, eight TFLs, six PBUs, one sack and three interceptions)
McEachern was selected to the All-ESCC team after being a rock in the back end of the Redwings’ defense in finishing fourth in tackles and second in interceptions. Inserted late in year to help out in running game, he had 608 rushing yards and eight TDs.
K/P: Naperville Central senior Connor Assalley (48 points; 36-38 on PATs and 4-8 on FGs) Assalley was solid in the kicking game for three years for the Redhawks and earned All-DVC honors.
