Considering recent late-night incidents in downtown Naperville attributed to over-served patrons, several members of the Naperville City Council are calling for tougher restrictions on downtown restaurants that attract a late-night drinking crowd. Public comment and the discussion are expected to be addressed at the Aug. 19 meeting in Council Chambers.

The meeting begins at 7PM Tues., Aug. 19, in City Council Chambers. Anyone planning to speak (Be prepared to speak for no more than three minutes.) must sign up in advance of 7PM with the City Clerk.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
