OK. I have to give up – this winter is finally wearing me down.
Mike is a saint and has not said a word about here instead of somewhere warm. But then, he is going on a golf trip to Las Vegas and is already laying out his golf clubs, buying new golf gloves and new golf balls—he can’t wait. I’m sure that he is counting down the days, hours – if he gets to minutes, we are in trouble.
Now a trip in March is a long, long way away. So we may have to something absolutely drastic. We know that there is a fellow columnist from Naperville who is now in Florida reading our column. Mike and I just may have to drop by and double check how it is to be in a warm weather place during the winter months!
If we bring a bottle of red wine, can we come and do an interview? Will brats from Kreger’s or steaks from Casey’s help our request?
But before we go anywhere, we have to thank our very, very special neighbors in Brookdale. Since we almost moved away last year, we had given away our snow blower. Our neighbors knew this and have been clearing our drive way and sidewalks throughout this tough winter. We can’t thank Shelly, Joe and Bill enough – they are angels.
Well, the one good thing about this winter weather is that Mike and I are having a great fire in our fireplace and catching up on movies. So far, Captain Phillips and Blue Jasmine are high on our list.
