Mo & Mike on the Move – Back home again

-

Well, we were on the move – out in sunny Arizona with the grandkids for the holidays. Within days we’d been to three baseball games with Kobe and we can tell you that it was cold – especially the night game. When the sun goes down the temperature just drops.

KrolsBut the kids say that it is just us because we bring a little Naperville weather with us! But it is still great to break up the winter by traveling a little bit. As I began this story, we were about to head out to a neighborhood tavern to watch the Bears and the Packers. I knew I’d be surrounded by Mike, his son Dan and the grandkids (Nik and Kobe) complaining about Cutler – I had been warned by our daughter-inlaw Tonya!

And look at Cutler now! He’s not complaining.

I also want to tell you all about a new place to go when you come out to Scottsdale. It’s called The Western. Country music (usually no cover charge) and a big dance floor. The food is casual – sliders, tacos, appetizers, etc. The corn on the cob is a must to get for an appetizer. Mike and I lasted two minutes on the dance floor trying to do the Texas two-step – we stopped when we realized we were being immortalized on the kid’s cellphones. Those are dangerous things to have around!

After ringing in the New Year out here, we headed back to snowy Naperville.

We will be looking to see if we can come out for some spring training games. We have a nephew who now is working for the Cubs, so we may have to come out and support him. (Free tickets can’t hurt either).

In the meantime, we hope to be able to see you soon in Naperville for the New Year!
