Last week, CityGate Grille hosted a wine auction to raise money for charity leading up to the Naperville Wine Festival. Forty bottles of fine wines were donated by local connoisseurs raising a total of $2,245.
This is the third year the Wine Festival was held at CityGate Centre in Naperville. It also hosted “Wine Week,” offering special menus, tasting flights and wines at SugarToad, Hotel Arista, CityGate Grille and Tap In Pub & Carvery.
Donors contributed classic bottles of wine including Axious Cabernet Sauvignon 2004, Kilikanoon “Oracle” 2011, and Peter Michael “Les Pavots” Estate Red 2005 – to name a few. Participants wined and dined as they placed their bids hoping to be the lucky winners. The money raised for each bottle went directly to charities including Little Friends, Inc., DuPage Pads and Loaves & Fishes Community Food Pantry.
“The event was a huge success and we were happy to host this one of a kind auction,” said Walter Barakat, General Manager at CityGate Grille. “The restaurant is very committed to the local communities and this was a great opportunity to enjoy some great food and wine while raising money for charity.”
Although Wine Week may be over, the celebration doesn’t have to stop. CityGate Grille is offering half priced bottles of wine all summer long. Call (630) 718-1010 for details or to make reservations.
