Let there be celebrations of music this weekend, March 16-17

Above / The sounds of the Firefighters Highland Guard Bagpipers of Naperville create memories during parades, special events and memorial services throughout the year— and especially during celebrations on St. Patrick’s Day.

Sat., March 16

Spartan Ale House / 3PM / Live music begins at 3PM with Junkyard Groove until 6PM, followed by Highland Guard Bagpipers. Live DJ begins at 7PM. Spartan Ale House is located at 3032 English Rows Ave.

This End Up at Quigley’s / 8:30PM / Naperville’s Irish pub that’s been around for 25 years is located at 43 E. Jefferson Avenue in downtown Naperville. Live music is featured every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  This End Up is set to play sets this evening. Visit Quigley’s Irish Pub for the upcoming schedule of live music while checking March 16.

We’re glad for plaid and all the wit from the Emerald Isle across the pond. Ever wonder why a jokester calls a 200-year-old Irishman “Peat”?

Quigley’s Irish Pub / 10AM / Irish music in the background creates memories for friends and family on this day when everybody’s welcome to be Irish! Live music begins at noon featuring Celtic Roots, Noon to 4PM; Highland Guard Bagpipers, 5:30-ish; Chicago Irish Band, 8PM to Midnight. Naperville’s Irish pub that’s been around for 25 years is located at 43 E. Jefferson Avenue in downtown Naperville. Note St. Patrick’s Day is an age 21-plus day. 

Spartan Ale House / Noon / Live music begins at noon with Tom Barr until 3PM, followed by bagpipers. Live DJ begins at 5:30PM. Spartan Ale House is located at 3032 English Rows Ave.

Naperville Municipal Band Concert: ‘A Salute to Lifelong Musicianship’ / 3PM / The Naperville Municipal Band will present its annual Winter Concert in the Metea Valley High School Auditorium. The community band under the leadership of Director Emily Binder will be joined by the Metea Valley Wind Ensemble led by Don Devany. The public is welcome to the FREE concert. Metea Valley High School is located at 1801 N. Eola Road in Aurora. Plenty of convenient parking is available. For more info and upcoming concerts, visit www.napervilleband.org.

DuPage Symphony Orchestra presents ‘Springtime Celebrations’ / 3PM / The DSO’s 2024 Young Artists Auditions Winner, Henry Auxenfans, plus Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture, Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, and Herbert’s Irish Rhapsody to celebrate the cultural holidays of spring. Tickets ($15.50 to $43.50) / Wentz Concert Hall is located at 171 E. Chicago Ave.
