NaperLights welcomes folks to downtown Naperville along Water Street

-

See what’s shining along Water Street, thanks to the return of Naperville Sunrise Rotary’s NaperLights holiday display on Nov. 6, now aglow after dark from 4PM to 10PM through the end of 2023.

Stroll along Water Street and the south side of the Riverwalk to get into the holiday spirit.

On Dec. 23, families will have a chance to chat with Santa in the big chair by the Great Tree, weather permitting.

And a giant Christmas Bear will welcome families for the perfect photo opportunity.

NaperLights celebrates 11 years of holiday cheer

Since 2013, the annual light display, a gift to the community from the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, has grown and grown and grown.

First featured in Central Park, then moved to larger space at Naper Settlement, the sparkling attraction with whimsy all the way to the rooftops has been located along Water Street since 2019. With more than 150,000 lights, the collection of giant holiday figures includes flashing polar bears that skate, penguins sliding on an igloo, skaters, snow men, carolers, gifts, baubles and dancing trees.

The Plaza Fountain has been enhanced with dancing skaters and up in the sky high above the Riverwalk, and visitors just might spy Santa and his reindeer flying over the Marquette building and downtown.

Many local businesses play significant roles in supporting NaperLights as it augments the City’s Grand Illumination throughout the holiday season.

While they last, the popular holographic viewing glasses will be available for kids from Rotary volunteers on weekends. Free-will donations to support Naperville Sunrise Rotary local and international charitable projects are welcomed.
