Visit Naperville – Holiday highlights

-

The holidays in Naperville are always festive and joyful, with several family-friendly activities kicking off the season. The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot starts the day with runners, walkers, and special needs runners/walkers getting in a 5K and a complimentary breakfast with their community.

The following day, Nov 24, enjoy the Parade of Lights where brightly lit floats, local music performers, and home-town groups cruise through downtown Naperville, capped off by a visit from the big guy himself, Santa!

Speaking of Santa, several local places provide opportunities to visit him. Consider the Naperville Park District’s Santa Workshop, a unique visit inside Santa’s magical workshop. Other locations like Saints Peter and Paul Church and Tamarack Golf Course also have breakfast with Santa events.

You can’t miss Naper Lights, a dazzling light display right downtown near the Riverwalk, extending through Water Street, Foyo Plaza and Jaycees Park. Bring the kids down for a stroll before dinner, snap some pics, and be sure to grab a holiday photo with jolly Santa alongside the Great Tree (Friday and Saturday evenings).

Booking a Naperville Trolley or Tuk Tuk Naperville Holiday Light Tour is a unique way to enjoy sparkling holiday displays. Both tours run throughout the season and are a great way to make merry and bright memories, particularly for a group.

A holiday-themed performance might be just the ticket to get you in the Holiday spirit! Check out the DuPage Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Concert or the Naperville Chorus’ “Swingin’ Into Christmas” with the Pete Ellman Big Band. Find the classic Nutcracker at Pfeiffer Hall, or opt for jazzy Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s “Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party.”

Embrace the spirit of giving this season by supporting local Toys for Tots drives or volunteering at Naperville Park District holiday-themed events. Offer a gift to Loaves and Fishes’ Holiday Hope program to provide a complete holiday meal for a family.

Embrace the magic of the season and make memories with your family and friends!
