Naperville Art League calls for artists, public art competition runs April 12-29

Above / Submit original art interpreting the theme “Gear Up” by Sat., April 9, 2022, for Public Art Competition hosted by Naperville Art League, located at 508 N. Center Street at Fifth Avenue.

Artists from Naperville and surrounding communities are invited to participate for cash prizes in Naperville Art League’s 19th annual Public Art Competition. Artists are invited to submit one entry per person under the theme “Gear Up.”

The piece must be original in design, concept, and execution. It can be any media or mixed-media, and either 2D or 3D. Size restrictions apply. Deadline for submissions is Saturday, April 9, 2022, with no extensions.

All entries will be on display April 12 through 29 at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. St., Naperville 60563. Awards presentation will be at 3PM April 22, 2022.

Two age categories, cash prizes, entry forms online or at NAL

Two age categories for entries are high school/college age and adults. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($300) and Awards of Excellence ($100). Honorable Mentions will receive an award card. Winners will be publicized. The entry fee is $30 for non-members and $15 for Naperville Art League members. Entries must be accompanied by an artist’s statement.

Food drive will benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Services

Along with the show, Naperville Art League is hosting a food drive to benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Services. Non-perishable food items may be brought to the Gallery throughout the show. Gallery hours are 10AM to 5PM Tuesday through Friday and 10AM to 4PM Saturday.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services provides food and services to over 3,000 Naperville and DuPage County families each month. For more information, visit www.loaves-fishes.org or call (630) 355-3663.

Naperville Art League is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides art instruction and education, encourages all forms of creative art, and works to stimulate understanding and appreciation of art in the community. The League plans and hosts the annual outdoor Riverwalk Fine Art Fair in September.
