It’s Consolidated Election Day! Polls open until 7PM

-

Today’s the day! From now until 7PM, today is the last opportunity for voters to cast a ballot in the 2021 Consolidated Election. We hope you’ll take a little time before heading to the polls to be educated about the qualities of the candidates who want to serve Naperville’s local elected bodies.

If you’re a frequent reader of this website, you know our passion to inform as well as our tradition to vote on Election Day. More than likely, you’ve visited our Election Guide. Thank you!

Election Day begins with reports of low Early Voting turnout…

Late yesterday afternoon when we stopped by DuPage County Early Voting at the Municipal Center, election officials mentioned low turnout so far with 2,460, about one/fourth of the Early Voting count from the 2020 Presidential Election.

We were reminded that the Consolidated Election is the one where residents “Vote FOR your pocketbook.” For 2021, voters will choose from dozens of candidates vying to approve budgets and public policies as each candidate aims to represent the interests of Naperville on the city council as well as the boards of schools, parks, townships and College of DuPage.

We’re hopeful that means everyone is waiting, as we are, to vote today, April 6! Grab and book or newspaper and head to the polls. Follow local protocols and wear a mask. We have fond memories of long lines with enthusiastic voters!
