Stress and anxiety often increase with unanswered questions, and the coronavirus pandemic has raised a lot of uncertainty. There is no right or wrong way to react during these unprecedented times. The tension, questions about the future and social isolation that the pandemic brings could lead to anxiety, depression, alcohol/drug abuse or domestic violence.

Gina Sharp, President & CEO, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health

Regardless of age, we have all been exposed to the messages on television and social media. Even our healthcare workers and first responders have dealt with so much grief and unease.

We all deal with stress in different ways. Working with someone at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, whether it’s through a visit with a psychiatrist, an individual therapy session, or seeking help in a more structured program, such as inpatient or day programming, our team is available to listen to your concerns, nudge you with questions, teach you new skills to manage various issues and help you build a plan to get back to being successful.

Our mental well-being is so important, which is why our teams have been innovative with treatment approaches during this time. Linden Oaks Behavioral Health continues to provide help both virtually and in-person, safely.

We have developed the Edward-Elmhurst Safety Commitment to reinforce and communicate the steps we’re taking as a health system, including behavioral health. It’s our commitment to you and to each other that we will continue to put safety ahead of everything else we do. We want you to know what you can expect when you visit one of our facilities. For details, visit www.EEHealth.org/safety-commitment.

You don’t have to do this alone. Our compassionate experts at Linden Oaks are here to help if you need support.

If you or a member of your family need help figuring out the next steps, please contact Linden Oaks (www.EEHealth.org/services/behavioral-health) at (630) 305-5027 for a free behavioral health assessment.

I am incredibly grateful for the excellent physicians and staff at Linden Oaks. They continue to inspire hope and support so many individuals during this most unusual and challenging time. They are the unsung heroes who shine among us.
