Special Needs Nights at the Santa House

-

With the weather turning colder and the snow surprising us all last week, my thoughts quickly turned to the holidays. There might even have been some holiday shopping going on in our house as those snowflakes fell.

Even though it seems a bit premature, there is no better way to bring the magic of the holidays to your family than with a trip to the Naperville Park District’s Santa House. And now is the perfect time to get it on your calendar.

The Santa House, made possible through the support of presenting sponsor Woody Buick GMC, runs from November 30 thru December 22 on the Naperville Riverwalk at Jackson Ave. and Weber St. Your child can share their wish list with the big guy while creating a memory that will carry them beyond the holidays.

If you have a child with special needs, you know anticipation for a visit with Santa can be especially difficult. Families are encouraged to make a reservation for one of the Special Needs Nights. These are designed to minimize the wait time and lessen the anxiety it may cause for you and your child.

Partnering with the Naperville Park District, WDSRA is there to help. You’ll be welcomed with snacks and activities. During your private visit, parents and siblings will share an extended visit time with Santa. Your visit will even be captured with a free photo (only for Special Needs Nights visits). Special Needs Nights are being made possible, in part, thanks to a grant from the Naperville Evening Kiwanis.

Registration for the Naperville Santa House is now open. Dates include December 2-4 and & December 12.

Reservations can be made directly at the Naperville Park District website www.napervilleparks.org/santahouse.  Spots fill up early, so register soon.
