15th Annual SHARE ‘A Walk to Remember’ attracts 1,200 participants to Naperville Riverwalk

UPDATE, Oct. 18, 2019 / More than 1,200 people took part in SHARE’s 15th Annual “A Walk to Remember” on  Oct. 12 at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion in downtown Naperville. SHARE, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, is a support group at Edward Hospital (Naperville) and Elmhurst Hospital for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death. The event featured a memorial service in which the names of 275 babies were read, followed by a one-and-a-half mile walk.

Walk proceeds support SHARE’s counseling services, bereavement training and education, and the Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital, an outdoor space that was designed as a place where grieving parents can seek peace and comfort, as well as memorialize their child.

Original Post, Oct. 18, 2019 / SHARE’s 15th annual “A Walk to Remember” will be held Sat., Oct. 12, at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 500 Jackson Ave., west of Centennial Beach in downtown Naperville.

SHARE, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, is a support group at Edward Hospital (Naperville) and Elmhurst Hospital for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.

Proceeds from the Walk will benefit SHARE’s counseling services, bereavement training and education, and the Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital, an outdoor space that was designed as a place where grieving parents can seek peace and comfort, as well as memorialize their child.

Check-in and registration on the day of the event will begin at 8:30AM. A memorial service featuring music, poetry and a reading of baby names will be held at 9:30AM, followed by a one-and-a-half mile Walk at 10:15AM.

SHARE support groups are available at Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville and Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd.

SHARE meets regularly at Elmhurst Hospital and Edward

At Elmhurst Hospital, SHARE meets the first Tuesday of each month from 7-9PM in the Arboretum Conference Center’s Birch Room. At Edward, SHARE meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 7:15-9:15PM in the hospital’s Education Center, Room E305.

Sharing HOPE meets monthly at Edward

Sharing HOPE (Having Optimistic Pregnancy Expectations) meets at Edward on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7:15-9:15PM in the hospital’s Education Center, Room E308. Sharing HOPE is a support group for couples who have experienced a loss and are pregnant or considering pregnancy.
