UPDATE, Oct. 16, 2019 / Singing for Seniors Producer Gary Leavenworth has provided a few updates about this 20th anniversary show that begins at 3PM Sat., Oct. 19, when the Naperville Men’s Glee Club returns to perform. In addition, past scholarship winners will present a cabaret of music.

“They’re coming home from Nashville, New York, St. Louis and Chicago,” Leavenworth said. “It’s also fabulous to note that a number of our scholarship winners are now singing professionally!”

Leavenworth also wants everyone to know that following the show, Singing for Seniors will host a reception for all attendees to help celebrate this milestone occasion.

“Thanks for spreading the word to family, friends, neighbors and everyone age 55 and better,” Leavenworth added.

Community Yellow Box is located at 1635 Emerson Lane.

Seniors 55 and better are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy an afternoon concert designed just for them.  The church offers ample parking and is handicap accessible.

Twenty years ago, Gary Leavenworth assembled a committee and gathered sponsors, all with the idea of honoring the seniors of this community with a free concert.  To commemorate this special occasion, the 90-minute show will feature the first group to perform at Singing for Seniors, hometown favorite Naperville Men’s Glee Club.

The community of seniors, 55 and better, are invited to sit back and relax in comfortable seats to enjoy a concert featuring a variety of entertainers performing songs from their playlists.

Organizers also are enthusiastic about welcoming back the musical talents of past Performance Scholarship recipients when they present this years’ scholarship winner, Hannah Klose, from Naperville Central High School.  A few other surprises are planned for the 20th Anniversary show that are sure to delight the crowd.

Thanks to generous sponsorships, Singing for Seniors continues to be a free event for the joy and entertainment of people age 55 and better.  Complimentary transportation is available for Naperville residents who may need a ride.  The concert is open seating and no tickets are necessary. It’s a great way to spend a memorable Saturday afternoon!
