The Naperville Municipal Band began as the Naperville Brass Band in 1859. The Band celebrated its 160th birthday with a performance on July 11, 2019, in Central Park.
Concert-goers enjoyed A Musical History of Bands in Naperville narrated by Ann Lord under the leadership of Conductor Ron Keller and several guest conductors. The concert also featured the Band’s Saxophone Quartet and trombone soloist Catherine Savino.
Note! The National Concert Band Convention will wrap up its weekend stay with an outdoor performance in Central Park at 3PM Sun., July 14. Free. Come fill the park benches! Central Park is located 104 E. Benton in downtown Naperville.
And the Naperville Municipal Band outdoor summer concert season will continue at 7:30PM Thursdays through Aug. 15. Music is for life!
