The City of Naperville is hosting a public hearing to present the preferred alternative for improvements to the intersection of 95th Street and Book Road. The public hearing will take place at 7PM on Thursday, June 6, in conjunction with the City of Naperville Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) meeting.

The TAB meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

Feedback welcomed after presentation

A brief presentation on the status of the project and the proposal under consideration will begin at 7PM and will be followed by an opportunity for the public to comment on the preferred alternative. Preliminary reports including environmental documents and an engineering analysis with drawings, maps and aerial photography will be available. Representatives of the project team will be present before and after the TAB meeting to discuss the project with anyone interested.

The City has identified the need for improvements at the intersection of 95th Street and Book Road that will increase safety, reduce delay and improve operations. Preliminary engineering to assess existing conditions and determine optimal improvements will be completed in 2019. Construction is currently planned for 2021.

Check exhibits and displays on City’s website / Comment by June 20

For individuals who cannot attend the June 6 public hearing, exhibits and displays will be posted to the City’s website, and comments on the preferred alternative will be accepted through Thursday, June 20. All comments received prior to 5PM on June 20 will be considered part of the public record.

Please email Project Engineer Kelly Dunne at dunnek@naperville.il.us with any feedback.

Editor’s Note / More info for Naperville residents who live south of 95th Street. Due to Monday afternoon’s significant and severe storm in the south end of Naperville, the City of Naperville announced earlier this week that a free bagged leaf pick-up will take place this Saturday, June 1, for Naperville residents who live south of 95th Street.

To take part in this special one-day collection, bag leaves in yard waste bags. NO sticker will be required for this special free collection. Place yard waste bags at the curb by 6AM on Saturday, June 1. Groot, the City’s garbage/recycling provider, will collect these bags on that day.

Do NOT rake leaves into the street.
