Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Begins Final Weekend at DCM – 9AM | $12 Admission

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the last days to step into Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit here in Naperville. Visit before it’s gone. This exhibit brings to life the themes presented in the award-winning PBS Kids television series created by The Fred Rogers Company that follows the adventures of 4-year-old Daniel Tiger and his friends. Admission to DuPage Children’s Museum is $12 for adults and children age 1 and older, and $10 for seniors; it’s free for members and children less than one year.

Quilt Show – ‘Find your style…Tell your story’ – noon to 7PM | $7
NIU campus in Naperville – 1120 E. Diehl Rd.
Celebrating 25 years in June, the Riverwalk Quilters Guild is hosting the Quilt Show – “Find your style..Tell your story.” The show will be on the NIU campus in Naperville, 1120 E. Diehl Rd. Over 300 quilts will be on display, plus a merchant mall, raffle baskets, special drawings, demonstrations, Hidden Treasures sale, and featured quilter – Svetlana Gluskin. If so, join the Community Career Center (CCC) on Wednesday or Saturday morning at 9:00am to learn about the services and resources available including one-on-one appointments with human resource and business professionals covering career exploration, job search strategy, networking, resume review, interviewing, and LinkedIn. In addition, the CCC offers job search and career related workshops, networking and accountability groups, use of workstations and support from the staff. No need to RSVP.

Casey’s Foods fires up the grill on Saturdays and Sundays – 11AM – 2PM | Cost varies with purchase

Casey’s Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Add a dollar and get chips and a drink. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.

Chicago Sinfonietta presents ‘SoundSketch’ – 8PM | $49-62

The Chicago Sinfonietta performs its end of the season concert “SoundSketch” at 8PM Saturday, May 11, in the Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. A love letter to soul icons, this program of musical portraits of icons such as Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan will be brought to life in a string-centered performance featuring violin virtuoso Regina Carter. Tickets are $62 and $49. Tickets at finearts.northcentralcollege.edu.

Paint & Plant a Pot for Mom May 11 & 12, 11AM-3PM, Naperville & Aurora, $5. Kids can say Thank you to mom with an original work of art and a flower! There will be a painting and planting station at both locations. No registration required.
