-

UPDATE, Aug. 4, 2019 / Bursts of color illuminated the stage at Wentz Concert Hall when Grammy-winning Steve Vai and his band entertained for the benefit of Little Friends on Aug. 4.

Original Post, May 9, 2019 / It isn’t every day that a three-time Grammy award winner comes to town with the intended purpose of putting on concert to benefit Little Friends. Needless to say, this is a pretty cool thing to announce.

As such, I am pleased to share that on Sunday, August 4, 2019, Steve Vai, world-renowned guitarist, composer, songwriter, and composer is coming to Naperville to perform at the North Central College Wentz Hall. For guitar enthusiasts, this concert is an incredible treat and opportunity to see one of the true guitar legends.

Steve got into this profession and began touring with Frank Zappa beginning at the age of 18. His career and skills as a musician has brought him opportunities to also have played with David Lee Roth, Whitesnake, and recently toured with Generation Axe. Amongst an incredible list of performers, Steve is ranked #11 on the list of the Top 50 guitarists. His skills are amazing to watch!

Steve and his band will be coming to town for the performance on August 4.

Tickets are now on sale through the website for North Central College Fine & Performing Arts. Ticket prices for this charitable event range from $100 to $350. The higher priced tickets include intimate Meet and Greet opportunities that include food and drink receptions.

The highest priced ticket includes receptions on both Saturday, August 3, at Vai’s Italian Inspired Specialties restaurant and on Sunday, August 4, at Wentz Concert Hall. Noting the exact last name, Steve’s brother, Michael, co-owner of Vai’s restaurant, along with Sandy Georganas are sponsors of the event.

Besides an incredible concert, we will be having a raffle for two GEM guitars designed by Steve. One will be done over the internet, as details will be announced in the coming weeks. The other will be sold through an auction at the concert during intermission.

We are truly excited and privileged to announce this coming event! Get your tickets, as we expect a full house that Sunday! It’s going to be an incredible evening with Steve Vai!
