Park District programs cancelled for Monday, Nov. 26

-

All Naperville Park District programs scheduled prior to 3PM on Monday, Nov. 26 are cancelled due to winter weather conditions.  The cancellation includes all scheduled classes, drop-in programs, Fort Hill Activity Center childcare, open gyms and group fitness classes.  Makeup information for programs will be communicated to participants at the next class.  A decision regarding evening programs will be posted at www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations by 2PM.

Fort Hill Activity Center will open at 8AM.  All other Park District offices and facilities will open with their regular schedule.

Park District winter sports facilities updates are posted at www.napervilleparks.org/wintersportsfacilities. Sled hills will open when the ground is frozen and there are two or more inches of snow with no visible grass. Ice skating rinks will be open from December 15-February 15, weather permitting. They can open only after a period of extreme cold.

Naperville Park District staff reminds residents of the following procedures guiding the cancellation of recreation programs and facility closings due to winter weather:

For programs.  If either Naperville Community Unit School District 203 or Indian Prairie School District 204 is closed due to winter weather, all Naperville Park District programs scheduled prior to 3PM will be cancelled.  The cancellation includes all scheduled classes, drop-in programs, Fort Hill Activity Center childcare, and group fitness classes. Program cancellations due to winter weather will be posted on the Weather Cancellations page of the Park District website at www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations. For programs occurring after 3PM, check the website after 2PM for updated information.

If either School District 203 or 204 implement a late start due to winter weather, Naperville Park District preschool classes will be cancelled for the day.  The cancellation of any additional programs will be dependent upon weather conditions and facility accessibility.

On non-school days or during after school hours the Park District will monitor weather conditions and facility accessibility to determine if programs will meet.

For facilities. The closure of Park District facilities will be dependent upon weather conditions and facility accessibility.  Facility closures due to winter weather will be posted on the Weather Cancellations page of the Park District website.

Warming Shelters.  During periods of severe cold, Naperville Park District facilities are available as warming shelters during their hours of operation, including Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center95th Street Center and Fort Hill Activity Center
