May is known for holidays celebrated in other countries beginning with May Day closely followed by Cinco de Mayo, concluding on May 27 with Memorial Day which is celebrated throughout the U.S. and particularly here in Naperville with an annual summer starting parade.
Century Walk has been celebrating our local parades since 2010 with murals on the north and south walls of the alley on the west side of Main Street north of Jackson Avenue in downtown. Respectively, these would be number 38 “Parade of the Century” and number 40 “Naperville Loves a Parade.”
So after taking in this year’s parade, you might wish to saunter over to see these two murals, which are also free to the viewer and see if your experience is not enhanced by doing so.
Or you might not want to end your visit there, but take in some of the other art locations of our 53 throughout the community. And a good way to do this would be too get your hands on the Naperville Century Walk Public Art Guide available at City Hall, Naper Settlement, Hotel Indigo, Park District & the three Libraries, again free of charge.
