Watch for detour at Main Street between Jefferson and VanBuren in downtown Naperville

-

Since Tuesday, July 31, Main Street at Jefferson Avenue has been closed headed northbound due to redevelopment of the old Russell’s Cleaners property in downtown Naperville.

Work could require the closure of northbound Main Street from Jefferson Avenue to Van Buren Avenue. For now, the street is closed to the entrance of the Paw Paw Lot in the middle of the block.

At Van Buren, PN observed one lane of Main Street is open headed southbound.

These closures of Main Street are expected to remain in effect until mid-November.

The exit and entrance to the Paw Paw Parking Lot could change, depending on construction needs by the day.

All neighboring businesses and the Van Buren Parking Deck as well as the Paw Paw Parking Lot will remain open during construction.

Posted detours will head drivers in the right direction as safety is advised. Use caution in this area. Walk on the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

Editor’s Reminder / Early Sunday morning, Aug. 5, the 2018 Naperville Sprint Triathlon begins with swimming at Centennial Beach, then winds throughout local neighborhoods for bicycling and running. Be prepared for lane closures and delays around downtown Naperville. Downtown restaurants that serve breakfast, brunch and lunch will open as usual. So will downtown merchants. Come visit!
