(Naperville, IL) – DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) will host its annual Benefit Ball on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Naperville.

This year’s event, themed “AWE Inspiring Moments,” will be an evening filled with inspiration and celebration. The black tie optional Benefit Ball not only serves as a celebration for DCM and its mission, but is also the top fundraiser for the Museum, a nonprofit, which depends on donations and grants to cover a large portion of its operating budget.

Great Friend to Kids Award to Robert A. Livingston

DCM is pleased to present the Great Friend to Kids Award to Robert A. Livingston, President & CEO of Dover Corporation. The Dover Foundation, the charitable arm of Dover, granted DCM $500,000, which helped complete the Museum’s AWEsome Energy exhibit in June of 2017. Dover, its leadership, and employees continue to remain engaged with the Museum to help provide important early learning STEM experiences to hundreds of thousands of children and the important adults in their lives. Presenting this award is Martin P. Slark, CEO of Molex, LLC and last year’s DCM Benefit Ball Honorary Chairman and Award Recipient.

For over 30 years, DCM has created AWE experiences in the Museum and in learning environments beyond our walls. Imagine a place where there is no limit to what is possible, a place where children are able to imagine, explore, and search for AWE inspiring moments. The Museum’s unique learning environment, packed with innovative ways to explore art, math, and science, has inspired curiosity, creativity, and problem solving in millions of visitors who have walked through the Big Red door.

2018 Benefit Ball begins at 6PM Saturday, April 7

The event begins at 6PM with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Judy Hsu, an Emmy Award winning broadcast journalist and co-anchor of the top rated ABC7 Eyewitness News at 11AM and 4PM, will return as the evening’s emcee.

The evening will continue with dinner, a live auction, and presentation of the Great Friend to Kids Award, a national effort embraced by children’s museums across the country to honor those who have made significant contributions to enriching lives of children. Dessert and dancing will conclude the evening with live music provided by Velocity Band.

The community is welcome to this AWE inspiring evening! Tickets are $300 per person or $3,000 for a table of 10.
