The Accessible Community Task Force

-

Educate… Empower… Engage…

According to Co-Chairmen Gary Smith and Nitin Vig, three words will guide the Accessible Community Task Force (ACTF) as members work to meet their goal of enhancing the quality of life of persons with developmental, cognitive, mental or physical disabilities living, working or visiting within the City of Naperville.

The Task Force, approved and endorsed by the Naperville City Council in November 2016, will strive to ensure that all children, youth and adults with disabilities are valued by and contribute to their community.

The volunteer group will work closely with the Advisory Commission on Disabilities and will regularly share with the Commission the exciting and innovative ways the task force can network and disperse information to the community.

The task force also encourages and invites members of the community to share ideas and concerns with the Task Force so that everyone can work together in achieving their goals.

“Your input is important to us,” said Smith.

PN Ombudsman
An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
