Morgan and Kevin Tychper were selling wedding and occasion cakes and word-of-mouth was growing. They knew that with a store front they could offer many more items and get in front of more people. Kevin grew up in Naperville and the couple are raising their children here. They realized the community spirit and happy customers provided the right atmosphere to ply their craft. “When you see little ones peek into the case and their eyes light up, that’s the reward,”says Morgan. To date, they are still primarily trading on word-of-mouth and their involvement with a large number of local charities.
Morgan believes it’s the couple’s passion for creating high-quality scratch-made baked goods that attracts customers. When the couple met with Chris Chako of Chicago’s Sparrow Coffee Roastery to create a custom coffee for DeEtta’s, their next venture became evident. Sparrow Coffee will feature De Etta’s baked goods when their first café opens at Water Street District next year.

Says Kevin, “Naperville businesses and organizations support each others’ success. They are the heart and soul of Naperville. We certainly found that at Naperville Bank & Trust.”
