The City of Naperville’s Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) will host a public meeting at 6:30PM on Monday, July 11, to discuss the purpose of a new analysis of impediments to fair housing in Council Chambers at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street.
The meeting will include a presentation by Mullin & Lonergan Associates, Inc. (M&L), a national housing and community development consulting firm that specializes in affordable housing and finance, fair housing, and special housing studies. Attendees will be given an introduction to fair housing, information about protected groups and how federal and state laws protect them, and an update on fair housing in Naperville.
Naperville-specific information will include population trends and diversity in the city, information about lower income households and how the ability to obtain housing may be affected by local policies, practices and procedures. An opportunity for discussion and comments will follow the presentation. Interested parties are also invited to complete a fair housing survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/naperville_resident_stakeholder.
The Housing Advisory Commission plays an important role in discouraging illegal and unethical housing practices by promoting fair housing for all.
