Naperville Central senior Emmanuel Rugamba
For the second straight week, Rugamba’s massive skill set at the receiver spot was on full display during No. 9 Naperville Central’s 34-14 victory at No. 15 Batavia. The Iowa-bound Rugamba caught five passes for 119 yards and three TDs while adding in an interception of Bulldogs’ quarterback Kyle Niemiec for good measure. On the year, Rugamba has 32 catches for 480 yards and five touchdowns.
Waubonsie Valley senior Max Ihry
Ihry helped Waubonsie Valley get over its loss to Metea Valley by running for 222 yards and two TDs during a 27-0 shutout of Wheaton Warrenville South. Ihry, who has three straight 100-yard games, ran for touchdowns of 95 and 45 yards to help give the Warriors a 20-0 lead. His 54-yard interception return in the fourth ended the scoring by putting Waubonsie Valley up 27-0. Ihry has 654 rushing yards and eight touchdowns through six games while leading the defense with 64 tackles.
