2015 Week 4 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week

-

Waubonsie Valley senior running back Max Ihry.

Offensive Player of the Week

Waubonsie Valley senior running back Max Ihry

Ihry accounted for both of Waubonsie Valley’s touchdowns in its 15-14 victory over No. 4 Naperville Central. Ihry’s 36-yard TD run midway through the fourth finally got the Warriors on the board after they had fell behind 14-0. His three-yard TD run – aided by a 58-yard halfback pass from Tanner Westwood to Jake Schroeder – with 53.6 left in regulation set the stage for Jack Connolly to run in for a two-point conversion. Ihry recorded 107 yards and the two TDs on 16 carries.

Defensive Player of the Week

Benet junior defensive end John D’Angelo

D’Angelo, who has committed to play lacrosse at Air Force, came up huge for Tim Cederblad’s defense when it was needed most. D’Angelo’s stop of St. Patrick running back Niko Childress on a potential game-tying two-point conversion preserved a 30-28 Benet victory over the Shamrocks. The Redwings scored 27 points in the second half to help turn away an early 15-3 deficit.
