In recent months, Oswald’s Pharmacy has been finishing up construction to grow into a spacious new showroom of medical equipment for the home.

Two large doorways now allow easy access from the pharmacy and sales floor into approximately 4,000 square feet where customers will find educational displays and all types of helpful aids. Support socks, cast shoes, diabetic footwear, surgical braces, wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, rolling walkers and canes are on attractive displays, available for those temporary occasions when assistance is needed to keep going forward.
According to owner Bill Anderson, the new showroom also features the largest selection of lift chairs in Chicagoland.
“We’ve already doubled the amount of lift chair offerings,” said Anderson. “And we’re adding a bathroom display center that will highlight the items that make bathing easier and safer.”
“We’ll be expanding our selection in all categories, adding new and innovative items to help anyone with mobility and health issues,” said Anderson, as he demonstrated a mat by a hospital bed that signals when an invalid tries to get out of bed unattended.
Customers also will note an expanded greeting card and gift wrap section with some new card lines, as well as larger gift, book and toy areas, “spreading things out a little so it’s easier to shop, ” added Anderson.
Some aisles will be changing, too, so if you have trouble finding merchandise, Will Anderson said he’ll be happy to show you around.
In 2004, Oswald’s Pharmacy moved from its original location in downtown Naperville to Naperville Plaza at Washington St. and Gartner Rd. The full-service pharmacy also offers a full-service US Post Office.
While the showroom officially opened in August, a special customer appreciation day is being planned on Sat., Oct. 3, to celebrate all that’s new at the 140-year-old independent family-owned business.
