July Events at North Central College

Through Aug. 9, Art exhibit: NCC presents “Pseudonym,” a free collaborative exhibit on display through Aug. 9 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The featured Chicago-based painters are Michael William Foster, Jaime Foster, Barry Dwyer and Andy Christopoulos.

Through Aug. 12, Summer Camps: NCC offers a variety of summer camps and workshops with many sessions starting in July. July 3, College closed: NCC will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

July 10-12, 17-19, Musical: NCC presents the musical comedy “The Addams Family,” directed and choreographed by Susan Craig-Olsen. Six performances will be staged at 7:30PM July 10-11 and 17-18 and at 2PM July 12 and 19 in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. The show is based on The Addams Family characters created by Charles Addams in his gag cartoons, which depict a ghoulish yet lovable American family. Tickets are $18/adults and $12/students and seniors.

July 13, Visit Day: High school students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend NCC’s Visit Day on Monday, July 13. Registration begins at 9:30AM in the Wentz Concert Hall lobby, 171 E. Chicago Ave., and concludes with lunch at noon. High-achieving students are invited to an optional session at 9AM. Visitors can take a walking tour and attend informative sessions on financial aid, academic highlights and student life. July 21, Author talk: Anderson’s Bookshops and North Central College co-present bestselling writer Ernest Cline in an author talk and book signing for his new novel “Armada” at 7PM Tuesday, July 21, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are required and available with the purchase of the new book at Anderson’s Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave. in downtown Naperville. July 24, Transfer information session: NCC will host an information session Friday, July 24, for transfer students. Visitors can learn about academic choices, transfer admission process, scholarships and financial aid. Registration begins at 9:30AM in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. July 31, Musical: NCC presents the loved musical “The Music Man” with book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson. Directed by Brian Lynch, the musical will be staged at 7:30PM Friday, July 31, in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. The fast-talking Prof. Harold Hill wins the hearts of stubborn River City, Iowa, residents in this family-friendly show. Additional performances are set for 7:30PM Aug. 1 and 7-8 and at 2PM Aug. 2 and 9. Tickets are $18/adults and $12/students and seniors.
