Feb. 5-7, Theatre: NCC presents “True West,” the story of a famously tense confrontation between long-estranged brothers, directed by North Central student Erik Burke. The show begins at 7:30PM Feb. 5, 6 and 7 in the College’s Madden Theatre, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $5/adults and $3/students and seniors.
Feb. 6-7, Music: The DuPage Symphony Orchestra presents “Gallic Glory” in cooperation with NCC’s Concert Choir and Women’s Chorale. Two performances begin at 8PM on Feb. 6 and 7 in the Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $35 and $30/adults, $31 and $26 seniors and $17 and $12/students.
Feb. 7, Music: NCC presents multiple Grammy Award-winner Natalie Cole in concert at 8PM Saturday, Feb. 7, in the College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Cole revisits her family’s multicultural tradition and introduces fans to a beloved collection of Latin music standards. Tickets are $95, $85 and $75.
Feb. 8-April 2, Art exhibit: NCC presents a touring exhibit by trauma survivor Diana Bilovsky. Titled “PTSD Nation: Art and Poetry From Survivors of War, Gun Violence and Domestic Abuse,” the exhibit uses art to educate the extent to which Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects an individual. Feb. 9-April 6, Art exhibit: NCC showcases an exhibit titled “Breaking Criminal Traditions” by author Cheryl Jefferson and painters Charles Gniech and Richard Laurent Feb. 9-April 6 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Feb. 13, Music: NCC presents “An Evening with Jazz Vocalist Janice Borla” with supporting North Central jazz faculty artists at 8PM Fri., Feb. 13, in the College’s Madden Theatre, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $20/adults and $15/students and seniors.
Feb. 14, Music: NCC presents today’s top blues talent in “Blues at the Crossroads” at 8PM Sat., Feb. 14, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Headlining the show are the Soul Queen of New Orleans Irma Thomas, Lee Fields, Eric Krasno of Soulive and Lettuce, Alecia Chakour and The Dynamites. Tickets are $65 and $50.
Feb. 21, Music: NCC presents banjo masters Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn in concert at 8PM Sat., Feb. 21, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Fleck is a 15-time Grammy winner and Washburn is an alumna of the all-female string band Uncle Earl. Tickets are $65 and $50.
Feb. 22, Music: NCC presents pianist, composer Robin Spielberg in a cabaret performance at 6PM Sun., Feb. 22, in the College’s Madden Theatre, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $35 and $30.
Feb. 26-March 1, Musical theatre: NCC presents “SHOUT! The Mod Musical” at 7:30PM Feb. 26, 27 and 28 and at 2PM March 1 in the College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Directed by North Central seniors, “SHOUT!” is a musical time machine that brings audiences to the swinging England of the 1960s. Tickets are $15/adults and $10/students and seniors.
Feb. 26, Music: NCC presents the fifth annual Sounds of New Music Festival, featuring the reed ensemble Renga at 7:30PM Thurs., Feb. 26, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $15/adults and $5/students and faculty.
Feb. 28, Theatre: NCC presents Theatreworks USA in “Curious George” with two shows at 10AM and 1PM Sat., Feb. 28, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. On Meatball Day, George helps his friend Chef Pisghetti cook some delicious meatballs and serve them to a hungry crowd. Tickets are $12/adults and $6/children under 12.
