Jaycees spring into action

Since the mid-1950s, the Naperville Jaycees has been a nonprofit service organization for young people dedicated to personal development through community service. Today with more than 100 members, the organization provides Naperville area residents with the opportunity to better themselves and to grow personally and professionally while giving through community service and fund raising efforts. Through their fundraising efforts, the Naperville Jaycees are able to donate funds to nonprofit organizations in the community and throughout DuPage County.

Most residents recognize the Jaycees as the organization that hosts the annual Last Fling with the Labor Day Parade; yet, every spring they begin hosting annual events such as the Distinguished Service Awards, the Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter and Lobster Day on the Saturday before Mother’s Day.

This year the Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to begin at 9AM sharp for Sat., April 19, at Frontier Park. Note that when the Jaycees say the run for the eggs begins promptly, they mean it. Don’t be late for the very important date, but if you are running behind schedule, the kids still will have time for photos with the Easter Bunny.
