This month, we decided to take a detour in our Positively Naperville culinary adventure and visit Casey’s Fine Foods. Founded in 1991 by Dan Casey and located in Naperville Plaza at Washington and Gartner, Casey’s has become synonymous with the highest quality food and exceptional customer service.
No matter what end of the counter you start at, Casey’s offers customers the opportunity to “Bring it home fresh, tonight.”
Soups, hot and cold salads, Panini sandwiches, entrees, baked goods – are made from scratch in the on-site restaurant quality kitchen – led by Kitchen Manager Corrie Foster.
Where to start? Take a number. Got a question? The deli team at Casey’s has an answer. Want a sample taste? Just ask. This all seems so easy until it’s time to order.
Since American Potato Salad and Redskin Potato Salad are two of the most popular, we ordered both. Perfectly cooked potatoes, creamy dressing, hint of mustard and onion – just right. Add a container of Southwestern Corn Relish, some Cracked Pepper Pasta Salad and Cilantro Rice Salad. Can’t forget the healthy Quinoa Salad. It’s starting to look like a buffet.
For entrees, both the Grilled Salmon Filet and Tequila Lime Chicken Breast looked great – so we took one of each. Tender and juicy when heated – this is our version of Surf & Turf. What a meal we had that night (and also the next day).
With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, Dan Casey – a son of Cos Kerry and Mayo, as is Mark – said Casey’s butcher slow cures more than 4,000 pounds of brisket. Add cabbage, boiled potatoes, carrots and a loaf of freshly baked Irish Soda Bread and it’s like the pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow. But order early – when the 2 tons are gone, there’s no more until next St. Pat’s Day.
Laurie summed it up when she said, “This is like dining out in the comfort of our home.”
We’re sure you will agree.
