Thirty-five units will perform during the all-day Midwest Color Guard Circuit show in Naperville North High School’s field house on Sun., Jan. 27.
Sponsored by the Steperettes Guard and Parent Organization, the competition will begin at 10AM and will conclude by 4:30pM. Price of admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children.
The Steperette Cadets, a program of the Naperville Park District, will be the first of the area groups with a performance time 10:25AM. Naperville North High School will follow in judged exhibition at 11AM, and Naperville Central will appear after 1PM. Rounding out the field will be groups from throughout the Midwest. Units will perform in nine different classifications, with the most experienced units toward the end of the program. Regardless of class, the musically-driven, colorful presentations will be enjoyable for all ages.
The Steperettes Organization has existed in Naperville for over 40 years. Originally a nationally-renowned baton twirling corps, the group has won many awards, including Midwest Color Guard Circuit and Winter Guard International Regional A championships. Members of the Steperette Cadets are third through eighth graders; alumni march in each of the District 203 and 204 color guards. The Steperette Cadet program is an outgrowth of the Park District’s “Fun With Flags” classes that are offered each session at Beebe School.
