Free bagged leaf and yard waste collection runs Nov. 5 to Dec. 14

-

The City of Naperville encourages residents to take advantage of the free bagged leaf and yard waste collection program, which runs from Monday, November 5 to Friday, December 14, 2012. This yearly program helps the City handle the huge volume of fall leaves in an efficient manner.

To participate, fill 32-gallon paper yard waste bags with leaves and other yard waste. Leaves and yard waste placed in paper yard waste bags will not require stickers from November 5 to December 14. Branches and other yard waste that are tied into bundles require a sticker at all times. There is a 60 pound maximum per bag. Please be aware that wet leaves will add to the weight of the bag. Place the bags at the curb by 6 a.m. on your normal garbage collection day.

Prior to November 5, a yard waste sticker is required on each bag or bundle placed out for collection. Stickers cost $2.10 and can be purchased at many Naperville stores or in the Finance Department at the Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The hours for the Finance Department are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30AM. to 5PM and Wednesday from 10AM to 2PM. Paper yard waste bags are available at local grocery and hardware stores; the City does not provide yard waste bags.

Weekly bag or bundled yard waste collection ends for the year on December 14. Yard waste collection will begin again on March 18, 2013, and a yard waste sticker will be required on all bags and bundles.
